Diversity Commitment

Conservation Insight stands by the movement of Black Lives Matter. We commit to continuing to listen, learn, and enact change until our society and country overcomes systemic injustice towards all people of color. We recognize that people of color are underrepresented in the field of conservation, and we have a responsibility to work to change this. 

Among our first steps, 

• We will continue to seek out and create opportunities to change the field of ecology and conservation to include and encourage participation on all levels by people of all races. 
• We will continue our own learning about the interconnectedness of race, class, and environmental justice. 
• We will modify our hiring practices to minimize implicit bias. 
• We will continue our work to be anti-racists within our field and commit to increasing awareness of systemic racism and bias as we collaborate with others.
